Hodgkin’s Survivors: Increased Fatigue, Cardiac, and Thyroid Complications
According to a recent article published in the Annals of Oncology, survivors of Hodgkin’s lymphoma have a significantly increased rate of cardiac and thyroid complications than their siblings. In addition, survivors tend to have more fatigue than their siblings; however, this may in part be associated with cardiac issues.
Subclinical hypothyroidism associated with increased heart failure risk among older adults
Subclinical hypothyroidism is associated with an increased risk of congestive heart failure among older adults, but not with other cardiovascular events and death. The study is published in the Archives of Internal Medicine.
Thyroid problem complicates efforts to lose extra weight
I have a thyroid problem, so it’s hard for me to lose weight — I weigh 275 pounds. I take thyroid hormone every day, but my weight keeps creeping up. I have my levels checked twice a year.
